Where detectorists exchange knowledge.
Public counters help prioritize our reference research. They do not tell us how many people own a particular detector.
| Community | Registered accounts | Evidence and limits |
|---|---|---|
| TreasureNet | 159,619 | Homepage counters observed. Registered accounts are not monthly active members; the forum covers treasure hunting beyond metal detectors. Similarweb estimate, August 2026: global rank 173,599. Third-party estimated global rank. The displayed 146K visits figure has an ambiguous comparison period in the retrieved page, so no monthly visitor total is asserted. |
| Friendly Metal Detecting Forum | 56,220 | Homepage counters observed. General equipment boards do not provide comparable manufacturer membership counts. |
| Findmall | Not verified | Indexed manufacturer-board references found; direct homepage retrieval returned 403. Membership and current brand activity counts remain unverified. Similarweb estimate, August 2026: global rank 486,961. Third-party estimated global rank. The displayed 50.1K visits figure has an ambiguous comparison period in the retrieved page, so no monthly visitor total is asserted. |
| DetectorProspector | Not verified | Homepage manufacturer-board totals were inspected, but the site announces that all forums are closed. Counts describe an archive, not current posting activity. |
Manufacturer-board archive sample
Observed on 2026-09-28 at DetectorProspector. These boards are closed; groupings and board ages differ.
| Board | Displayed posts |
|---|---|
| Minelab | 68.9k |
| XP | 14.3k |
| Nokta / Makro | 10.7k |
| Garrett | 9.9k |
| First Texas (Fisher, Bounty Hunter, Teknetics combined) | 9.5k |
| White’s | 8.7k |
| Blisstool / Compass / Tesoro / Troy combined | 2.1k |
| Quest | 745 |
Minelab has the largest observed total among these selected archived manufacturer boards. Unequal board age, grouping and audience prevent a market-wide popularity ranking. Tesoro cannot be assigned a separate total from the combined legacy board.
Our research priorities
Editorial choices informed by this sample:
- Deepen exact-model manuals and revision coverage for Minelab, XP, Nokta and Garrett.
- Retain legacy Tesoro, White’s, Fisher and Teknetics references instead of treating old equipment as irrelevant.
- Make brand, exact model and document type searchable; preserve aliases without merging different detector variants.
What this cannot establish
- This is a four-community sample, not an exhaustive ranking of detecting websites.
- Traffic estimates are not first-party analytics and cannot identify which brands members own.
- No comparable monthly traffic measurement was verified for all four sites.
- No forum posts or member profiles were copied into SSL.
